Sports Brief | Mauro plays in lax senior all-star game

If graduating senior Max Mauro thought that Penn's season-ending victory over Army would be his last collegiate lacrosse game ever, he received a welcome surprise when he was selected to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association North/South All-Star game for seniors.

Playing for the South side, Mauro competed against and alongside some of the best players in the nation on Friday in Boston. Even more strangely, he was teammates with many former opponents.

"There were a couple of guys on my team we had played against and it had gotten heated during the game. It was a change of pace to sit down and have a friendly conversation with" them.

The North prevailed, 20-10, in a high-scoring game, but that didn't bother Mauro.

"It wasn't about winning or losing, it was just about going out and playing lacrosse."
