The Undergraduate Assembly traveled cross-campus to Hill College House on Sunday night to hold its weekly meeting.
The meeting, held at the mostly freshmen dorm in an effort to publicize the UA to first-year students, attracted student government newcomers and potential UA candidates. Highlights include:
n The Graduate and Professional Student Assembly is working with the UA to implement a shuttle bus to Broad Street via Penn Transit. The budget request for the shuttle project is due next week.
n The UA reminded students that the 36th Street farmers' market, Jamba Juice and Einstein Bros. Bagels will accept Dining Dollars.
n High-rise elevator renovations are slated to begin next summer, starting with Harnwell and Harrison college houses.
n UA Chairman and College senior Jason Karsh launched his second UA YouTube clip via school-wide e-mail this week. The clip had 1,673 hits by yesterday, already a considerable improvement since the first clip, which had only 155 views by the end of New Student Orientation.
n College sophomore Zac Byer, Wharton senior Azim Munivar and Seth Shapiro - all UA members - were elected to represent the student voice in University Council meetings with high-level administrators.
n In Budget Committee Elections, UA members Alex Flamm and Liz Lee were elected to hold Budget Committee seats.
The Budget Committee manages $1.6 billion and is responsible for allocating this money to various student groups and student-government organizations.
