The Penn School of Design's Center for Urban Redevelopment Excellence received a $2.2 million grant in June from the Rockefeller Foundation to aid in the reconstruction of New Orleans.
The projects will be centered primarily in areas of the region that were devastated by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
The Center for Urban Redevelopment Excellence supports urban redevelopment leaders by "placing promising young professionals in fellowships with top redevelopment organizations nationwide," according to the program's Web site.
Fifteen fellows will be recruited by September. Their activities are expected to be complete by March 2009.
