Assault

July 29 - A 12-year-old boy unaffiliated with Penn reported that while riding his bike on the 3200 block of Chestnut Street he was assaulted by several other juveniles on bikes at about 8 p.m. The victim sustained cuts and bruises to his shoulder and arm and was taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where he was treated and released.

Burglary

A 19-year-old male student reported that an unknown person removed a laptop from his bedroom on the 3900 block of Pine Street at about 5 p.m.

DUI

Mary Nalerio, unaffiliated with Penn, was arrested for allegedly driving a vehicle while intoxicated on the 3600 block of Walnut Street at about 2:45 a.m. Nalerio, 32, lives on the 5800 block of Addison Street.

Robbery

July 25 - A male Penn employee reported that he was robbed at point of simulated weapon at about 1:45 p.m. while in his car in front of the 7-Eleven on the 100 block of South 38th Street. About $1,600 in cash was taken from him, and a 17-year-old juvenile was arrested in connection with the incident.

July 27 - A 38-year-old woman unaffiliated with Penn was approached by a man who tried, and failed, to take her pocketbook on the 4000 block of Pine Street at about 5 p.m. The suspect fled by car.

Theft

July 24 - Linda Howard, 54 and unaffiliated with Penn, was arrested for leaving Fresh Grocer without rendering payment for items at about 2:10 p.m. Howard resides on the 3700 block of Haverford Avenue.

July 24 - Tyrone Eldridge, 38, was arrested for leaving Fresh grocer without rendering payment for items at about 4:20 p.m. Eldridge, of the 1300 block of Wood Street, allegedly tried to take $50 worth of merchandise.

July 25 - An unknown suspect allegedly removed GPS devices from two separate vehicles in Penn Tower Parking at about 3 p.m. The victims, a man, 50, and a women, 46, are unaffiliated with the University.

July 25 - A 17-year-old male unaffiliated with Penn was arrested for removing items from Natural Shoe at about 3:20 p.m.

July 26 - A 28-year-old male employee of the University reported that an unknown person removed his laptop bag from the McNeil Building at about 12:15 p.m. The bag was in an unsecured office.

July 26 - A 30-year-old female employee of the University reported that an unknown person removed credit cards and $65 in cash from her purse at about 3 p.m. The purse was in a locked office.

July 28 - A 48-year-old woman unaffiliated with Penn reported that an unknown suspect removed her laptop from Van Pelt Library at about 5:45 p.m. The laptop was unsecured.

July 29 - Two unknown suspects were observed fleeing the Gap on the 3400 block of Walnut Street at about 5 p.m. without rendering payment for items.

Vandalism

July 29 - A male student, 43, reported that an unknown suspect damaged the right side canvas of his Jeep on the 4100 block of Sansom Street at about 3:20 p.m.
