Robbery

Jan. 12 - Daryl Thomas, 40, was arrested after he allegedly demanded money from complainants unaffiliated with the University while threatening them with a knife. The incident occurred at 40th and Locust streets at about 8 p.m.

Jan. 12 - A complainant unaffiliated with the University reported that, after picking up a woman in a cab and allowing her to use a cell phone, she fled after while refusing to pay and without returning the cell phone. Amelia Santiago, 22, was arrested on the 2900 block of Chestnut Street in connection with the crime.

Theft

Jan. 21 - A student reported that she returned to her vehicle on the 4100 block of Baltimore Avenue and found the front window broken and vehicle paperwork removed from the car. The incident occurred at about 8:20 p.m.

Jan. 21 - A complainant not affiliated with the University reported that she removed her rings - valued at about $2,400 - at a nursing station at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, located at 3401 Civic Center Blvd., and returned later to find them missing.

Jan. 20 - A complainant not affiliated with the University reported that her purse was stolen from under her table at Mad Mex, located at 3420 Moravian St.

Jan. 19 - A student reported that her unsecured bicycle, of undetermined value, was stolen from a bike rack in the Quadrangle.

Jan. 18 - A wallet and purse, valued at about $65, were reportedly removed from an unlocked locker at Pottruck Health and Fitness Center, located at 3701 Walnut St.

Jan. 18 - A complainant unaffiliated with the University said her wallet was removed from her pocketbook while she was in a meeting at the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, located at 3900 Market St.

Jan. 18 - A laptop of undetermined value was reported stolen from a desk inside a trailer near the intersection of Convention Avenue and South Street.

Jan. 18 - A University employee reported that items, valued at about $170, were removed from her handbag at Dunkin' Donuts, located at 3437 Walnut St., at about 11 a.m.

Jan. 16 - A University employee reported that her laptop, of undetermined value, was taken from a public area at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, located at 3900 Market St.

Jan. 15 - A female student reported that her car was broken into and the navigation system was taken. The incident occurred at 4000 Irving St. at about 3:20 p.m.

Jan. 14 - A female student reported that credit cards were taken from her purse in a lounge in Fisher-Hassenfeld College House.

Jan. 12 - A female student reported that her wallet was missing from her dorm room in Ware College House after friends visited the room. The wallet was later recovered, but about $250 was missing.

Jan. 12 - A University employee reported that about $48 was taken from a folder in her office at 3535 Market St.

Assault

Jan. 20 - A police officer was allegedly assaulted during a traffic-car stop in the 4000 block of Walnut Street. An arrest was made, but the name of the arrestee has not been released due to the ongoing investigation.
