The Daily Pennsylvanian

Letter from the Editor

I've been on a bit of a spending spree recently. That always happens to me in the summer. During the school year I don't have time to shop, or eat or sleep or breathe for that matter. But during the summer I find myself with time and disposable income on my hands and that, my friends, is a dangerous combination. My most recent and prized acquisition is six complete seasons of Friends. Now, to my credit I got them at Sam's club so they were only $16.95 each, and Warner Brothers was offering a rebate so that if you bought 6 seasons of Friends (or any number of other TV series) then you get $50 back so really I only paid around $9 for each season and there's at least 20 episodes in each season, so it's something like 50 cents an episode, so I got an amazing deal if I may say so myself. But I'm not just bragging about what a bargain hunter I am (Although I am pretty talented. I recently got the dress that Kate Hudson wore in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days unworn for only $60. Top that.) What I'm really writing about here is what an amazing television series Friends is. I never watched it when I was younger because my parents were really strict about TV so this is really a lost treasure for me. This show is so damn funny! Seriously, have you ever heard of 2 full grown men living with a duck and a chicken? No! And that's just for starters. Ever since I got Friends, my life has been a blur of work and then watching as much Friends as I possibly can. It may be excessive, and maybe Friends has replaced hanging out with any real friends I may have had at one point, but I missed out on it the first time, so damnit I am never going to miss it again! Incidentally, I still don't own the 1st, 7th or 10th season, so if you were trying to think of a good gift for me, that would be it.
