Robbery
- March 14 -- A 27-year-old man unaffiliated with the University said that he was robbed by a man with a semiautomatic handgun at about 10:25 a.m. on the 3900 block of Market Street.
The victim said the robber fled with $60 and a gold wedding band containing eight diamonds.
Burglary
- March 19 -- Police arrested William Miller, 43, of the 7400 block of Elmwood Avenue, saying that he stole two 35-mm cameras, copper wire and other construction materials from a Turner Construction Co. site near the intersection of 38th Street and Woodland Walk.
Miller was charged with burglary, theft and receiving stolen property.
Theft
- March 18 -- Silva Sensua, 49, was arrested for theft after she allegedly stole a purse left by a student on a table in Charles Addams Fine Arts Hall, located at 200 S. 36th St.
Police say Sensua had the purse with her when she was stopped on the 3900 block of Spruce Street.
- March 15 -- Police arrested Harold Berry, 44, of the 300 block of S. 61st Street after he allegedly took two mini grills worth $44 from the Fresh Grocer, located at 40th and Walnut streets. A security guard chased Berry until he was apprehended on the 4000 block of Walnut Street.
Bike Theft
- March 16 -- A 24-year-old woman unaffiliated with the University reported that her bicycle, valued at $100, was stolen from a bike rack near 37th and Walnut streets sometime between about 12:30 and 9 p.m. The red mountain bike had been locked to the rack.
- March 16 -- A 26-year-old female student reported that her Fugi mountain bike, valued at $350, was stolen from a bike rack on Smith Walk sometime between 5:30 and 9 p.m. The silver bicycle had been secured to the rack.
Vandalism
- March 18 -- An employee at the McDonald's at 3935 Walnut Street reported that a man threw a chair at a soda machine inside the restaurant, causing about $3,000 worth of damage. Elijah Edwards, 22, of the 4000 block of Green Street was arrested and charged with criminal mischief.
