Quakers have little trouble with Brown

Final: Penn 68, Brown 51

Ibrahim Jaaber celebrated his 22nd birthday with 18 points and Penn rolled to an easy 68-51 win over Brown Friday night at the Palestra. The Quakers (11-6, 3-0 Ivy) opened the first half with a 10-0 run and finished it with an 18-3 spurt to lead 33-15 at the half. Brown (6-12, 2-3) did not have an answer in the second frame, and could not pull within any fewer than 17. A 60-31 cushion midway through the second half allowed Penn coach Fran Dunphy -- who picked up career win No. 301 -- to empty his bench for the third time in as many league games. Everyone in a red and blue jersey got to play except Greg Kuchinski. The Quakers will face Yale Saturday night at the Palestra. The Elis fell victim to a 26-9 run late at Princeton and dropped their second game in the Ancient Eight Friday. Scott Greenman's 27 points led the Tigers to a 66-49 win. Elsewhere in the league, Harvard handled Columbia, 69-59, and Cornell handily defeated Dartmouth 63-47. Commentary from Friday night's game can be found at the Buzz.
