Lions make gains in poll after big week
After a monumental sweep over Penn and Princeton, Columbia finally got some respect from the DP sportswriters as the Lions jumped over Brown into sixth place in the rankings.
Yale rose in the poll as well, despite a loss to Dartmouth. But the Quakers still hold a wide margin over the second-ranked Elis.
Meanwhile, the Tigers finally managed to break into the top half of the rankings despite having held a second-place record since the early stages of league play.
It's more than likely that this is partially because Harvard's continued freefall shows no signs of letting up -- it lost over 20 points in the poll since last week.
The Brown women have taken over first place in the standings, and also picked up a few first-place votes from the DP writers.
However, the Big Green is still standing strong atop the rankings.
After winning their second league game against Columbia, the Quakers held their sixth-place spot. However, they made large gains in every category.
