'Samuel Johnson,' a.k.a. Bruce Purchase, of the Royal Shakespeare Company, reads from the 2003 play 'Johnson Is Leaving.' The monologue, which he performed at the Kelly Writers House, portrays life at the end of the 18th century through the noted writer's eyes.
