In elementary school, the teacher would give the kids a ball and tell them to go play. At some point in time, one kid decided that he could show how cool he and his friends were by lining the other kids up against a wall and throwing the ball at them. We now call that game dodgeball, and just the sight of a rubber ball conjures up memories of painful welts and bruises.
