Unidentified copse found in parked car near HUP

A corpse found in a parked car in front of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is being investigated by the Philadelphia Police Department, according to the University Police Department Detective Division.

Discovered last Friday morning, the deceased was a man who appeared to be in his late 40s to early 50s, according to reports from the Associated Press.

The man had been left in the passenger seat of a 1989 Chevrolet. He was discovered around 11:00 a.m., near the entrance to the emergency room. His identity has not been released.

The AP reported on Friday afternoon that police had also released no information about the owner of the car, who is believed to have parked the vehicle and walked away.

The Philadelphia Police Department declined to comment on Wednesday.
