Assault
Jan. 25 -- A female student was struck on her back and arms at 38th and Locust streets around 11:18 p.m. Two suspects fled eastbound on Locust Walk after the alleged incident. The complainant described one as a six-foot-tall black male between 18 and 20 years old wearing a black puffy coat and black pants. She described the other suspect as a black male between 17 and 18 years old, also wearing a black puffy jacket and black pants. The complainant refused treatment after the alleged incident.Theft
Jan. 26 -- Shortly after midnight, a female unaffiliated with the University reported the theft of her purse from Chili's Grill and Bar located at 38th and Chestnut streets. According to the complainant, her purse contained a digital camera, a cell phone, a driver's license, two electronic organizers, three Visa cards and $40 in cash. Jan. 25 -- Police arrested Joseph Pointdujour, who is unaffiliated with the University, at 11:51 a.m. after he allegedly stole a waitress' tip money from a table at Chili's restaurant. The complainant claimed that she saw Pointdujour take the money and flee the scene. Police apprehended him shortly after. Jan. 25 -- Police arrested 34-year-old Russell Lyons, who is unaffiliated with the University, at around 10:09 a.m. after he was allegedly seen by a staff member going through desk drawers and filing cabinets in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Jan 24 -- A female student reported the theft of her purse, wallet, cell phone and $180 in cash from Cosi, a coffee shop and cafe located at 140 S. 36th Street. The estimated value of the stolen property was $1,130. The incident allegedly occurred around 3:00 p.m.Theft from Auto
Jan. 22 -- A male unaffiliated with the University reported a theft from his car parked in Lot #5 behind the Palestra. The perpetrator allegedly broke the front window of the car and stole a cell phone and vehicle registration and auto insurance forms. The total value of the stolen property was $120. Jan. 22 -- A female unaffiliated with the University reported that both of the front tires on her Dodge Stratus had been slashed. The incident allegedly occurred at 3300 Chestnut Street around 4:15 p.m.Criminal Mischief
Jan 25 -- Police arrested Anthony Obrien, who is unaffiliated with the University, after a Spectaguard observed him throwing a brick through the window of a house located at 422 S. 41st Street.
