To the Editor: I also note that elite private institutions such as Duke and Stanford seem to have little trouble fielding top-10 caliber basketball teams with players who do not get arrested for raping or assaulting their ex-girlfriends or burglarizing their dorms, yet they do not suffer any loss of academic respect or renown.
