EDITORIAL: Diner fulfills student wishes

When it opens New Year's Eve, Eat at Joe's will attrack flocks of students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Ninety-seven percent of the students surveyed last fall by the Undergraduate Assembly said it doesn't. They overwhelmingly wanted a 24-hour diner. Thanks in part to that poll, Eat at Joe's of Cherry Hill, N.J., will open such a business under that name on the 3900 block of Walnut Street, near Baskin Robbins and Cinemagic 3. Although few students will be on campus New Year's Eve when the 1950s-themed restaurant is scheduled to open, they'll probably fill it around the clock when the semester starts. It simply can't miss. University officials undoubtedly did right in soliciting this kind of business. If the food, prices, ambience and service are right, everyone will want to Eat at Joe's.
