CAMPUS CRIME REPORT: Thursday, July 31, 1997

Armed Robbery · July 24 -- A female graduate student reported she was robbed at gunpoint at approximately 9:27 p.m. while walking on the 3600 block of Sansom Street by a 30-year-old black female and a black male in his mid-twenties, approximately 5' 10'' tall and carrying a hand gun. The assailants fled west on Sansom Street in a dark automobile. No injuries were sustained. Simple Assault ·July 28 -- A camp counselor reported being punched by a 20 to 25-year-old black male, 5' 8'' tall and weighing 175 pounds, with braces on his teeth at 38th and Walnut streets at approximately 12:10 a.m. The assailant fled the area. Attempted Burglary ·July 23 -- A female student reported an unknown person -- a black, 30-year-old male -- entering her residence at 4052 Spruce Street through a window at approximately 12:17 a.m. The student screamed and the assailant fled. Criminal Mischief ·July 28 -- An unknown person was reported to have to have punched a hole in the wall and thrown clothes around a room in Graduate Tower A between 6:00 and 9:40 p.m. Theft ·July 24 -- A Ralston House staff member reported the theft of a laptop computer from a secured office between 6:00 p.m. on July 23 and 8:15 a.m. on July 24. ·July 24 -- A Class of 1925 Low Rise staff person reported that an unknown person entered a room between 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and stole $340. Fraud ·July 24 -- A University Museum staff member reported that an unknown person attempted to use a University bank card that did not belong to him to make a $3,000 charge between 11:45 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Disorderly Conduct ·July 25 -- University police arrested Troy Simmons -- a 31-year-old resident of West Philadelphia -- for obstructing the highway and disorderly conduct at approximately 10:50 p.m. Simmons had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court and was turned over to Southwest Detectives. ·July 27 -- University police arrested Norman Lewis Richards -- a 42-year-old resident of West Philadelphia -- for obstructing the highway and disorderly conduct at approximately 5:13 p.m. Richards had am outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court and was turned over to Southwest Detectives. --Stephanie Cooperman all information obtained from University police
