Local shooting ends in death, serious injury

A 25-year-old black female was pronounced dead at 1:55 p.m. yesterday, after she and a 37-year-old black male were taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with gunshot wounds, according to a Philadelphia Police Homicide Division spokesperson. Philadelphia Police responded to a call at 4818 Spruce Street -- Priority Insurance Brokers -- at 1:30 p.m. Upon arriving at the location, police found the male and female on the floor suffering from bullet wounds to the head. The two were immediately taken to HUP, where the female, identified as Philadelphia resident Theresa Thinner, was pronounced dead. The male, Philadelphia resident Taalib Bahar, remains in critical condition, HUP Nursing Administrator Nancy Williams said. Police have no suspects, and no motive or weapon has been identified in the case, according to the spokesperson.
