The incident occurred at 6:45 p.m.Theft from Auto · March 26 -- Police believe that a single suspect may have been responsible for two auto break-ins that occurred in a lot at 33rd Street and Convention Avenue. In the second incident, a 1990 Volkswagon, also belonging to a HUP staffer, had its driver-side door lock punched out. Another radio, valued at $200, was stolen in the incident, which occurred between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Simple Assault · March 26 -- A female student reported that a group of juveniles assaulted her by running over her ankle on their bicycles. The incident occurred at 6 p.m. in Franklin Field at 33rd and Spruce streets. The student refused medical treatment for the her injury. Theft of Auto · March 26 -- A student's 1989 Honda was stolen from the parking lot of the Sheraton Hotel at 36th and Chestnut streets between 8 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. An attendant reported seeing the car being driven out, but was unable to prevent the incident. Criminal Mischief to an Auto · March 26 -- An Allied Security guard reported that his 1977 Chevrolet Impala had its driver-side window smashed between 1 and 8 a.m. The car had been parked at 36th and Chestnut streets. Theft · March 27 -- An employee of the Hillel Foundation at 36th and Locust Walk caught a suspect trying to steal frozen meat. Hillel refused to press charges, however, and the suspect was released.
