IN BRIEF: NEC nominations delayed again

NEC Chairperson Rick Gresh said the selections will be announced today. On Monday, Gresh said the announcement would be made yesterday after the appointees and Provost Stanley Chodorow were notified. Although the NEC e-mailed its decision to the provost today, Gresh said Chodorow has not yet sent final approval. "The NEC has approved the appointments," the College senior said last night. "Now we're just waiting for the provost's acknowledgement. "This committee is an important one to him and I wanted him to have a chance look at the names," he added. --Randi Feigenbaum Dollar drive raises money for kids Sharing in the holiday spirit, the Black Student League and the South Asia Society are holding a dollar drive to buy toys for children in the Big Brother/Big Sister of America program. Members of both groups will accept donations on Locust Walk from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Friday. La Asociacion Cultural de Estudiantes Latino Americanos is also collecting money and toys for the 25 children at the Asociacion de Puertorriquenos en Marcha Emergency Shelter in North Philadelphia. ACELA members will be on the Walk from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday. --Tammy Polonsky
