The event comes just a few weeks before the release of the first draft of the University's "comprehensive public safety plan." It is therefore an excellent opportunity for those who feel their voices are not being heard to speak out, and we urge all who are concerned with safety to attend. At the same time, it is imperative that the administration take this forum seriously and consider the issues raised when writing the public safety plan. Without student input, the plan will not be effective. We commend those students and administrators who, recognizing the importance of students' concerns, organized tonight's forum. Without a sizable turnout however, the forum will be worthless, so we expect to see all students concerned about safety tonight in DRL, A-1.
