The Daily Pennsylvanian

EDITORIAL: Simply the Best

The Wharton School has regained its spot at the top of the heap of business graduate programs We applaud this achievement and salute the men and women who made this possible. Wharton managed to displace Northwestern's J.L. Kellogg School of Management, which had held the top spot since 1988. We realize that rankings and ratings are arbitrary. Just as it is wrong to damn the school when it slips a few notches, it is equally incorrect to exalt it when it rises a few. Having said that, we are proud of Wharton whose educational mix of real-world experience and textbook learning has made it a world leader in its field. We also salute Wharton Professor Jeremy Siegel, who scored the highest approval rating by graduates, making him the top-rated educator in the poll. Now we urge Wharton to go even further. As part of one university, the University of Pennsylvania, we urge them to work with the other schools, serving as an example of what this institution can achieve. And we invite the rest of the University to take a look at Wharton and see what can be learned from their experience. Wharton has excelled. Now we hope the University as a whole can follow suit.
