The slurs, which included "X=Ape", "Malcom Monkey X" and "Afro Ape" were painted on the dumpster, currently being used at a construction site for HUP. Malcolm X's name was misspelled in the slur. The vandal left out the second "l." Although no complaints were filed with University Police, black X's were painted through the words later in the evening. Several students took offense to the grafitti as they passed the site. "It makes me mad because most people who don't like Malcolm X don't understand him," Wharton freshman Travis Blow said. Ian Kelly, a College freshman, agreed: "Idiots must have done this." -- Amy Lipman
