To the Editor: Christopher Robbins, Editor-in-Chief of the Red and Blue, attempted to use the BSL. Because of his intentional misinformation, it was not until later Saturday evening (4/9/94) that we discovered the nature and true purpose of the survey. It was at this time that we withdrew our participation. After withdrawing, he threatened the BSL with negative publicity and political backlash. We feel that the questions of the survey were orchestrated to achieve a predetermined conclusion, specifically, the questions encouraged a particular response. We asked Mr. Robbins at Monday night's forum to explain why he included the BSL as a sponsor of the poll after we revoked our participation as a result of having been given misconstrued information. He denied ever making any such statement. Mr. Robbins attempted to utilize the Black Student League to give his movement credibility. We want to make it clear that the BSL denounces this survey, the evaluation methods utilized, and we question the integrity of Mr. Robbins, who, through the use of threats and deception, attempted to coerce the BSL to participate in his corrupt political agenda.
