BRIEF:

Burglars target Williams Hall Burglars target Williams Hall Three more offices in Williams Hall were broken into sometime over the weekend, University Police said last night. One office on the fifth floor, three on the sixth and one on the seventh have been burglarized since Jan. 31, he added. Risoli said the windows on the office doors were all broken, but still only a calculator and an adding machine have been reported stolen. University Police are stepping up security in the building after the burglaries, Risoli added. "Right now we're instituting special police checks three times during the course of each shift," he said. During these special checks, Risoli said, the officer who normally patrols the area around Williams Hall now has to enter the building and check each floor. Risoli said University Police have no suspects in custody for any of the burglaries. "It's hard to say," Risoli said. "With the snow and the ice, sometimes the front doors don't close properly, or it could be somebody on the inside." -- Gregory Thomas
