Garbage has not been collected from residences city-wide for the past two weeks because of "inclement weather," Streets and Highways spokesperson Clarena Tolson said yesterday. "Our crews are willing and able to work," Tolson added. "It's up to nature at this point." Although many sidewalks outside off-campus residences are lined with overflowing trash cans, some students are not bothered by the situation. College junior Danilo Pelletiere said "it's a pain stepping over the stuff," but he added that he "understands" why the trash hasn't been collected. But College senior Charles Maddow said the uncollected trash is "an eyesore, it's ugly, and it's a health hazard." "The trash pick-up around here sucks," he added. -- Jorie Green
