At last month's meeting, much of the discussion centered on Interim President Claire Fagin's proposal to amend part II of the University's racial harassment code – the so-called "speech code" – a move that prompted many members to submit resolutions for a vote tonight. GAPSA Chairperson Patricia Khuly said she will ask members to consider the resolutions after next week, when Fagin is scheduled to discuss her "speech code" proposals with University Council. Other business on today's agenda will relate to GAPSA's relationship with the Vice Provost for University Life's office. Khuly said in the past, the VPUL liaison to GAPSA has acted as a student advocate, but has since been "taken off the job." Fran Walker, director of student life activities and facilities, has been proposed for the position of a GAPSA "adviser" – a title which Khuly calls "hard to swallow." Tonight's meeting will be held in Room 305 of Houston Hall and is open to all University graduate and professional students. –Stephen Sanford
