New, correct, student directories are available to the University community beginning today, Mo Massel, publications manager of the Penn Student Agencies directory staff, said yesterday. Massel said that he is "very excited" that the reprinted versions of the 1992-93 PSA Student Directories arrived from the printer yesterday, although this week's distribution is about three weeks later than he had originally planned. Last month, when the directories were originally printed, they did not include campus telephone numbers and addresses of undergraduates who live in University residences. The mistake was caused by a computer error in the Office of the Registrar at the beginning of September. Residential advisors will begin today to distribute the new directories to students living on-campus. All other students can pick up their copies in the PSA office on the lower level of Houston Hall. The directories are corrected and are better than last year's reference, said Massel, a College junior. Massel said that the directories are sensible and user-friendly, especially the first section which includes telephone numbers for University offices and resources. Students said they are excited about receiving the directories, although they are being distributed late. "I don't understand how the mistake could have happened in the first place, but [distribution is] better late than never," said College freshman Jeanne Levin. Other students do not care about the mistake and just want the directories to be distributed. "[Just] get them out as soon as possible," said John Taylor, a College junior.
