To the Editor: In a time where the dissolution of "family values" is tossed around like so much unwashed laundry as the cause of society's problems, it is critical to realize that, though the actors in the family unit may be changing, the roles and the ideals they instill are the same. The University should continue its efforts to make the rights and privileges granted to all those enrolled here available to all those enrolled. This includes taking a firmer stand against a ROTC program that only allows heterosexuals to participate. The University and surrounding schools should jointly demand a policy change on the part of the Armed Forces, or secure a substitution for the funding their programs bring. Let's have more tolerance and less Tide. ALEX DUNNE College '93
