I applaud the openness and bravery of any two men or women willing to publicly kiss amidst a campus and nation replete with Mr. Epsteins. I applaud the DP for putting such a picture on the cover. Rather than making it into a "big deal," I interpreted the DP's choice as a showing of its support for the right of two consenting to publicly express their sexuality. Does Mr. Epstein have any knowledge of the experiences of any minority fighting for equality or even acceptance in the US? Historically, it has been necessary for them to make a "big deal." Remaining silent and unseen, accepting the status quo in an oppressive society has not readily brought about desperately needed changes. BGLAD promoted awarenes, and with the help of one photo, it seems to have worked. In conclusion, I suggest that everyone interested should join help to educate Mr. Epstein. I propose the start of a fund to provide him with: a standard English dictionary, a bar of soap for his mouth, etiquette books by Emily Post, literature on the struggles of minorities and train tickets to Fire Island. Any one of these items might make him more professioal, more responsible, more open-minded and less "downright fucking gross." STEPHEN TANNENBAUM Wharton '92
