The letter in response (DP 3/30/92) to The Daily Pennsylvanian's front page pictorial of two people kissing is unfortunate. I strongly believe that the University of Pennsylvania is an outstanding institute of higher learning and consequently attracts progressive and intellectually broadly-based and diversified individuals. The author has spent nearly four years at Penn. The author's response is unfortunate because it demonstrates that regardless of how rewarding one's environment may be, there are always those who are unable to benefit from its resources. The response is full of anger and fear. The logic and comparisons were not only irrelevant, but inappropriate as well. Whereas the picture of two people kissing is visually pleasant, the response was grossly disturbing and tasteless. The cutting edge of intellectualism is in the debating grounds of contemporary emotionally-charged issues. To win, you need the art of dialogue and the knowledge of time. The author has neither. L.F.
