Italy... a country of fine art, complex carbohydrates and hairy men. Is there nothing greater in this world? Well, put that Chef Boyardee back on the shelf 'cause the Italian Film Festival is here to tear down those stereotypes hardcore. Now, it may seem like the only things cinematic that have come from the Italians since the groundbreaking neo-realist period have been cheap porn and Roberto Benigni--like dyed leather in Firenze, Italian cinema is in the midst of a revival. Screening at this year's festival are La Capagria, Il Manoscritto Del Principe (The Prince's Manuscript), Come Te Nessuno Mai (But Forever in My Mind), Le Fate Ignoranti (Blind Fairies), Sole Negli Occhi (Sun in the Eyes) and our very own world-renowned Italian film scholar Millicent Marcus will be on hand for panel discussions as well. So come on, break bread, jump on your vespa and say "Ciao" in that smarmy way that you love to.

Superman is taking over the world apparently. Not only do we have another TV show about him (on the WB at that), but now we find it necessary to sing about him. Or at least imagine ourselves in that sexy blue and red get-up. Yeah, I'm sure having super-human strength and X-ray vision is so hard to deal with. Pop ballad wimp.
