Research assistants called a given clinic twice over a one-month interval, posing as mothers seeking specialty care for their children. Those who said they were publicly insured were more often denied appointments.

The skeleton, named Bouchra, is a 108,000-year-old homo sapiens. A Penn team has used CT scans and X-rays to create a clay model of its skull and face.
