	2009 Engineering graduate Ariela Nurko worked on animation for the movie ‘Brave’ which is being nominated for an Oscar. Nurko is a graduate of the Digital Media Design program at Penn and now works for Pixar.

Ariela Nurko, a 2009 Engineering graduate and 2005 Engineering graduate Paul Kanyuk are both part of the team that worked on the Oscar-nominated film, “Brave.” Both are graduates from the school’s Digital Media Design Program.


Graduate School of Education professor Laura Perna discussed her book, “Preparing Today’s Students for Tomorrow’s Jobs in Metropolitan America” in Houston Hall on Wednesday night. Following Perna’s presentation, contributing authors held a discussion panel of their own chapters.

UPenn V-Day hosts a sex workshop, MOREGASM was taught by professional sexuality educators Avital and Laura, from NYC sex toy shop Babeland.

Penn’s International Internship Program is expected to expand this summer with a 45 percent increase in applicants. The program is reaching out to regional alumni clubs and tapping into other various resources to maximize opportunities for students.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey announced on Wednesday that the ban on women serving in the military would be lifted. However, female students preparing for the navy and military already have a mostly integrated training experience.


Penn's Gamers Club meets to play board games, participate in scavenger hunts, and watch movies.

The Penn Gamers Club meets every Wednesday on the third floor of Houston Hall to play obscure, interactive board games. Members of the club speak about the hours they spend competing and ‘trash talking’ as if they’re playing sports.
