In a surprise announcement Sunday night, College junior and former Undergraduate Assembly Chairman Alec Webley resigned from the UA body via e-mail.

Wharton and Engineering sophomore Justin Warner has been removed from the Undergraduate Assembly due to “excessive meeting absences,” according to a statement by UA Chairman Alec Webley, a College junior.

The Nominations and Elections Committee released the packets Monday for students interested in running for the Undergraduate Assembly, Class Boards, UA president and UA vice president.

At the Undergraduate Assembly’s meeting Sunday night, members of the body, the Budget Committee and student groups came together for the “very first ever budget hearing,” according to College junior and UA Chairman Alec Webley.

At the UA’s weekly meeting on Sunday, the body discussed Penn’s 898-RIDE escort system, potential changes in the school year calendar, the Columbus Boulevard Shuttle project, the departure of two UA members and the annual Budget Recommendations.

Overall, the UA has seen a 3.76 percent budget increase due to funding gains from the Board of Trustees, according to UA Chairman Alec Webley, a College junior.
