Alongside Weissman, 81 other Nobel laureates across the disciplines of chemistry, physics, medicine, and economics signed the open letter supporting Harris in her bid for president. 

The group wrote in a statement to The Daily Pennsylvanian that “the decision to place these tags was a spontaneous one” and denied any affiliation to the University. 

The panel examined the legacy of Penn dermatology professor Albert Kligman, who conducted medical experiments on incarcerated individuals without their informed consent.

Also, Penn Muslim Students Association demanded divestment from Israel at a University Council meeting.

Penn Violence Prevention is hosting Domestic Violence Awareness Month this October in an attempt to raise awareness about domestic violence on campus. 

The initiative, supported by a grant from the Spencer Foundation, aims to incorporate digital, written, art, performance, and other forms of media to create a dynamic archive focusing on stories of Philadelphia’s Black youth.

The six-week, live online program, which was announced in an Oct. 22 press release, will run from Jan. 27 to Feb. 25, 2025 

Representatives for Abuse and Sexual Assault Prevention, Disabled Advocacy @Penn, and Muslim Students Association made requests to the council on Wednesday evening.

The investigation relates to a Sept. 12 incident when pro-Palestinian activists claimed responsibility for vandalizing of the Benjamin Franklin statue in front of College Hall with red paint, according to The Intercept.

Casey and Warnock urged attendees to continue to participate in grassroots campaigning and to encourage their friends to turn out to vote on Nov. 5. 

Gbowee, widely known for her leadership in the Liberian peace movement and her advocacy for women’s roles in conflict resolution, spoke about her experiences and the vital role women play in peacebuilding efforts across Africa. 

The event — titled “A More Perfect Union: Histories of Voting in America” — featured presentations by faculty members from neighboring institutions moderated by Penn professors and a student panel.

The three recent acts — two of which were discovered on Oct. 21 and one of which was discovered on the morning of Oct. 23 — follow at least three separate instances of vandalism over the weekend.

The annual clinic, which offered free flu vaccines to all Penn community members, was hosted at the Gimbel Gymnasium in the Pottruck Health and Wellness Center from Oct. 16 to Oct. 18.

Both groups indicated a large boost in members and engagement this semester compared to previous years. 

Over 900 Penn affiliates registered for the event, half of whom were students, according to a University spokesperson.

Also, Penn's chapter of Jewish Voices for Peace hosted a Gaza Solidarity Sukkah yesterday.
