Wistar and USciences took the initiative to build the new cancer biology graduate degree program in response to recent data from the National Institutes of Health indicating that Ph.D graduates should consider looking into alternative careers to academics.

At their biannual meeting last month, the trustees voted to create an Africana Studies department, a Masters in Bioethics Training program and a Masters in Integrated Product Design program.

The Zoning Board approved the application of a state liquor store at 43rd and Chestnut streets on June 14 after rejecting the store at an April hearing. The new ruling comes after the entire Zoning Board heard arguments for and against the store during a special appeals hearing on June 6.
