Nine Penn professors were among several hundred academics to sign an open letter to federal officials opposing President Donald Trump’s appointment of Ben Carson as secretary of Housing and Urban Development, the Philly Voice reported.

Following the shooting, Yiannopoulos’ upcoming speech at University of California, Davis was cancelled, according to Inside Higher Ed. Protesters on the campus similarly “blocked access” to the hall were Yiannopoulos was scheduled to speak, prompting the student Republican club to call off the speech due to concerns over student safety.
