Her suit — which alleges violations of tenure protection and unfair treatment based on her race — was dismissed by United States District Court Senior Judge Timothy Savage last August.

Ahead of the full board’s stated meeting on March 6, trustees met in committee sessions to review updates on Penn’s financial outlook, campus construction projects, and new academic programs.

Both the tuition increase and the financial aid budget are pending final approval by the Board of Trustees at its stated meeting on Friday. 

“Some of us pay, let’s say, almost a hundred thousand dollars in tuition,” Pinto said. “To be living under these conditions, it’s just not adding up.”
