When Penn was founded the faculty consisted solely of white, Christian males. Now, out of a standing faculty of 2,549 professors, there are 704 women and 411 minority faculty members

On Saturday, the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee voted to endorse incumbent Senator Arlen Specter over Congressman Joe Sestak in the 2010 U.S. Senate election.






Women's Week kicks off with Coffeehouse

Women’s week got underway Monday night at the Women’s Week Kick-off Coffeehouse, in Houston Hall, hosted by the Penn Consortium of Undergraduate Women and the Panhellenic Council. The Coffeehouse featured a variety of speakers and performers, as well as coffee, tea and pasteries.

The Penn Course Review’s scores and comments will be even more helpful to students, faculty and administrators now that evaluations are completed online.

Seventy-four percent of the 551 bids given out by fraternities were accepted this year — a number in line with recent years — but the number of students considered “MIA” has increased to 60.

Despite uncertainty surrounding healthcare legislation, administrators are optimistic the Penn Student Insurance Plan will continue to provide quality care to the 9,363 students it covers.
