NYU graduate student leaders say the campaign is "alive and well" despite the hiatus and they will continue their protests in other ways. And Penn graduate students are still vocal in their support for their NYU brethren.

Experience is a key asset for an assistant coach in any sport, and in new women's crew coach Anne Kakela, Penn's team will learn from a recognized Pacific-10 coach and a former Olympic rower. Coming off a 12th-place finish at Nationals last year with a school-record 51 points at the tournament, the wrestling team finds itself faced with a challenging slate of matches lined up for this season. The Athletic Department released the schedule for the upcoming season, and on it the Quakers will find a mix of familiar foes and notable newcomers.

Matt Meltzer: Repeat of '04 possible for field hockey?

Now that the field hockey team has finally scored (Saturday against Harvard in a 2-0 win), is it a little premature and a little foolish to talk about an Ivy League championship? Perhaps not. The Quakers are 1-3 and have been outscored 7-2 on the season.

For at least the second consecutive year, Penn has been the last Ivy League school to officially publish its men's basketball schedule. It is 10 a.m. on a Friday, and the scene in Penn's Office of International Programs has all the trappings of business as usual. Students and staff walk briskly to and fro, telephones ring shrilly, and the hum of jovial voices pervades the air. Amid this sea of activity, a small red sign perched on a desk attracts a few glances here and there.

The events of Sept. 11 have made many of us immigrants question our identities and sense of belonging and shocked us into the realization that we as a nation are as vulnerable as any developing country - unprepared for the attacks and the subsequent renewal.

Sex and God - all in a day's work
