At about 4 p.m. Wednesday, a male was apprehended by Penn Police for indecent exposure outside the Pottruck Health and Fitness Center, according to Division of Public Safety spokeswoman Stef Cella.
This is the second instance of public indecency reported on campus in the last week.
“The male was outside of Pottruck Gym and exposed himself through the window to the female student, who was inside of the building,” Cella wrote in an e-mail.
According to Cella, a Penn Police officer was already present inside Pottruck for an unrelated matter. The female student informed the officer, who called for help.
Another officer arrived shortly thereafter “to immediately stop and detain the male until she could make a positive identification,” Cella wrote.
The victim was then taken to the Philadelphia Police Department’s Special Victims Unit, while the suspect was taken to Penn Police headquarters to confirm his identity. “UPPD gave this info to SVU, who will obtain an arrest warrant,” Cella wrote.
Cella confirmed the suspect is not the same as the one apprehended Saturday for a case of indecent exposure last Wednesday outside the Law School.
No injuries were reported.
