Crime log: Oct. 1-7

Theft

Oct. 7 — A female student, 19, reported at about 5 p.m. that while at CVS, at 3409 Walnut St., an unknown suspect removed her unattended credit cards and subsequently made charges.

Oct. 7 — A male student, 23, reported at about 12:30 p.m. that his bicycle, secured with a cable lock, was removed by an unknown suspect from Meyerson Hall.

Oct. 6 — A woman unaffiliated with the University, 53, reported at about 4:30 p.m. that someone removed her unattended purse from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Oct. 5 — A female student, 21, reported that an unknown suspect removed her bicycle, secured with a chain lock, from Williams Hall.

Oct. 5 — A man unaffiliated with the University, 23, reported at about 2:30 p.m. that his secured bicycle was taken by an unknown suspect from the 200 block of S. 40th Street.

Oct. 5 — At about 2 p.m., computers were reported to have been taken by an unknown suspect from the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine, at 3400 Civic Center Blvd.

Oct. 4 — At about 7:45 p.m., someone was reported to have removed merchandise without paying from CVS, at 3925 Walnut St.

Oct. 4 — A male student, 37, reported at about 6 p.m. that someone removed his unattended backpack from Eastern Mountain Sports, at 3401 Chestnut St.

Oct. 4 — A woman unaffiliated with the University, 28, reported at about 3:45 p.m. that an unknown suspect removed a tire from her secured bicycle at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, at 51 N. 39th St.

Oct. 4 — A female student, 24, reported at about 2:15 a.m. that someone removed her secured bicycle from Leidy Laboratories.

Oct. 2 — Joseph Finnegan, 22, unaffiliated with the University and of the 1200 block of S. 29th Street, was arrested at about 8:30 p.m. for allegedly removing merchandise without paying from CVS, at 3925 Walnut St.

Oct. 2 — A female student, 21, reported at about 2:30 p.m. that someone entered her secured vehicle on the 400 block of S. 41st Street and removed a GPS device, left in plain view.

Oct. 1 — At about 6 p.m., cash was reported to have been removed from a safe within Rave Cinema, at 4012 Walnut St., by an unknown suspect.

Oct. 1 — A male student, 18, reported at about 6:15 p.m. that someone entered his unsecured residence on the 3700 block of Spruce Street and removed personal property.

Oct. 1 — A male student, 22, reported at about 5:30 p.m. that an known suspect removed a package from the 3900 block of Chestnut Street.

Oct. 1 — A male student, 28, reported at about 2 p.m. that someone removed his unattended backpack from the Class of 1923 Ice Rink, at 3130 Walnut St.

Oct. 1 — Erik Gomez, 25, unaffiliated with the University, was arrested at about 12:45 p.m. for allegedly removing items from secured lockers in Pottruck Fitness Center.

Oct. 1 — A woman unaffiliated with the University, 63, reported at about 12:45 p.m. that someone removed her unattended purse from HUP.

Oct. 1 — Erik Gomez, 25, unaffiliated with the University, was arrested at about 12:30 p.m. for allegedly taking a backpack from a female student, 25, in Meyerson Hall.

Oct. 1 — A man unaffiliated with the University, 36, reported at about 10:15 a.m. that an unknown suspect entered his secured vehicle on the 3700 block of Ludlow Street and removed cash, left in plain view.

Vandalism

Oct. 1 — A known suspect was reported at about 11:45 p.m. to have broken a glass door at the Rotunda, at 4014 Walnut St.

Fraud

Oct. 2 — A male student, 22, reported at about 3:30 p.m. that an unknown suspect made unauthorized charges on his credit card on the 3600 block of Chestnut Street.
