Naked Chocolate recently changed its name to Artisserie Chocolate Cafe after a transfer of ownership earlier this summer.
The shop, which was renamed before the new school year began, is planning to develop a French-inspired menu and shop.
According to shift manager Josh Schwartz-Neubauer, the company was purchased earlier in the year by Medical Diagnostic Laboratories CEO and founder Eli Mordechai, a former investor in Naked Chocolate who worked on expanding the brand.
Changes are expected to be complete within three months, Schwartz-Neubauer said.
The business also plans to change its interior through painting and artwork.
Barista Stephen Miller said the restaurant will add French pastries and possibly even crepes to its existing menu.
Schwartz-Neubauer added that despite the changes, the business is “still an intense chocolate shop.”
The restaurant on 34th and Walnut streets and another franchise at 31 S. 18th St. are two of the three Naked Chocolate Cafes being revamped this fall in Philadelphia.
The third Naked Chocolate location at 13th and Walnut streets is still being operated under the original name by the company’s first owner.
