Dear Family:
Du Bois has always maintained a very low rate of alcohol incidents and I am extremely proud of this fact. Therefore, I become very annoyed when residents choose to bring their intoxicated friends into our home to puke and be sick, and they then have to be take to the hospital because of their condition. The reason I become annoyed is because this goes on a university-wide report as an incident that takes place IN Du Bois, not in the house where the drunkard lives. I understand your need to help a friend, but if your friend is in need of medical attention, call for it as soon as you notice the situation, don’t drag them across campus to Du Bois. If at all possible, escort the person back to where he/she lives and keep an eye on them. If there is any doubt, call Penn police. Again, do not bring your friends here just because you live here and it’s convenient. It’s not fair to those of us who live in Du Bois and care about the house’s reputation.
On a final note, I will be sending students who do so to First Step, the alcohol education program, here on campus.
Ms. Trish
