Collegesoccernews.com released its annual rankings of the top 40 soccer recruting classes, and Penn's incoming freshmen came in at No. 36 on the list.
Penn - the only Ivy League school on the list - will bring in five freshmen in the Class of 2012.
Christian Barreiro was additionally honored in the website's list of the Top 100 Freshmen to Watch. He recently led his club team - the Baltimore Casa Mia Bays - to its third consecutive U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy Championship.
He is joined on that club team by incoming Quakers Thomas Brandt and Jake Levin.
The other two incoming freshmen are Eric Guo, from Arcadia, Calif., and Nick Unger, from Menomonee Falls Wis. Unger will join his brother Kevin for the Red and Blue this year.
The Quakers could certainly use the boost. The team went 6-9-2 this year, including a 3-4 mark in the Ivies, good for a fourth place finish. The team only graduated three seniors though, so this team could be prepped for a big year.
