Freshman Rachel Eng and junior Tracy Statter were recognized for their strong play yesterday.
Eng was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week after scoring her first goal and recording an assist in an upset over then-No. 15 Villanova. Eng's goal helped to jump-start the Quakers, who were down a goal with just five minutes left in the game.
Penn went on to win when Statter slapped in the game-winner with less than two and a half minutes remaining.
Statter, who also scored Penn's first goal against the Wildcats, was named womensfieldhockey.com Player of the Week.
Last Saturday, Statter assisted Cara Calahan on the Quakers lone goal against Dartmouth. After dropping their first two Ivy League games this season, the Quakers shut out the Big Green, 1-0.
