The Penn women's tennis team competed for the first time this year over the weekend.
The Quakers travelled south to participate in the William and Mary Invitational. Brown and Princeton also participated in the tournament.
Sophomore Julia Koulbitskya won her Flight B singles match against Melissa Mang of Duke. Alexis Plukas and Caroline Stanislawski also won their singles matches.
Penn's doubles teams also were successful this weekend. Two doubles squads won matches -- Raluca Ciochina and Janet Comeno as well as partners Sara Schiffman and Caroline Stanislawski.
Ciochina and Comeno were the only Penn players to win the final in their flight.
The Quakers will play in the Cissie Leary Invitational this weekend in Philadelphia.
