Forte suspended for 'detrimental' behavior
When the Brown men's basketball team opens its season tonight at Missouri, it will do so without its best player.
Bears coach Glen Miller announced Friday that guard Jason Forte has been suspended indefinitely for "behavior detrimental to the team."
Forte is the reigning Ivy League Player of the Year and was the central figure in Brown's 22-6 record in Ivy League play the past two seasons.
But the Rockville, Md., native, now a senior, has been asked to take more of a leadership role. Whether Forte's lack of leadership was the determining factor in the suspension is unclear. But it is clear that Forte violated a team rule, and Miller decided to take a hard-line approach with his star guard.
