Four food stands at the Moravian Cafes operated by the same owner closed over the weekend, leaving the building significantly under-occupied and partially unlit.
The stores -- Salad Creations, Philly Steak and Gyro Company, The GrillWorks and Buckhead Deli and Wrap Company -- were not operating successfully, according to Facilities and Real Estate Services spokesman Tony Sorrentino.
The Moravian Cafes opened in the mid-1980s when there were fewer dining options for students in the area.
Over the last 20 years, with the emergence of "fast casual" restaurants and the increasing popularity of food trucks around campus, the importance of the food court has diminished for students and faculty.
