Cross named Academic All-American honoree
Penn soccer standout junior Katy Cross was selected as first-team Academic All-America by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
The three-time All-Ivy selection and 2002 Ivy Player of the Year led the Ancient Eight this season with 38 points and 16 goals.
The Claremont, Calif., native ranks 11th in NCAA Division I with an average of 2.24 points per game and was 13th in goals per game with an average of 0.94.
Penn volleyball captain Elisabeth Kwak-Hefferan was selected to the Verizon Academic All-America team last season and remains a candidate this year as well.
The Wheaton, Ill., native has led the Quakers to a third straight Ivy League title and trip to the NCAA Tournament this season, as Penn posted a 13-1 Ivy record.
Kwak-Hefferan was also honored as the 2003 Ivy League Player of the Year.
